How Patronage Works
When you do business with Northern Star Co-op, you’re more than a customer — you’re a member-owner. At the end of the year, a portion of the co-op’s profits is returned to members as patronage, based on how much business you did with us.
Annual patronage refunds are redeemed at a rate of 30% cash and 70% equity for members under 65 years of age. That equity is retained in the co-op to help it grow and stay strong for the future.
Members who have reached their 65th birthday receive 100% of their dividend in cash, and all previously earned equities are paid back to them.
It’s one more way Northern Star keeps profits local and rewards the people who support the co-op.
